I came up to the reference desk at noon, and there was a couple talking bilingually right next to the desk. they have been chatting and flirting, etc, for over an hour now. Now they are talking about what they would name their kids. Yikes!!! There is a coffee shop in our plaza. Use it please! Oh jeez, they finally stopped.
Most folk think the library is some outdoor promenade or at least a coffee house. We had a lady last year who turned our Local History room into her office, and when I told her we were CLOSED, she told me that she was on the phone with a client. We have people who are here all day- every day using our computers. I am no socialite, but for once even I would like to say "GET A LIFE!"
